President and CEO- Melbourne-Palm Bay Area Chamber of Commerce

The Melbourne-Palm Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a President/CEO for the 1500+ member organization with a staff of 14 and an annual budget of $1.2 million.  This candidate will serve as the Chief Executive and Administrative Officer of the organization. 

The incumbent is responsible to the Board of Directors for the full range of activities -- coordination and execution of the business plan; organizational structure and procedures; motivation of volunteers; income and expenditures; maintenance and development of membership; employment, training and supervision of staff; interpretation of policy; maintenance of facility; long range planning. 

Attributes and skills of an ideal candidate would include: strategic thinking, visionary, strong communication skills, ability to collaborate and build consensus, extreme attention to detail, high organizational skills, strong public and media relations experience, volunteer motivation and management, knowledge of the government affairs process, and overall business management experience.

A Bachelors degree in organizational management, business administration or communications is required plus five years of relevant experience, direct chamber experience preferred.  A graduate of the Institute for Organizational Management, other leadership and economic development experience is also preferred.

Compensation will include a base salary range of $65,000-$80,000 plus incentives and benefits.  Salary is based upon education and experience.
