Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar (Burma)
Tropical Cyclone Nargis made landfall in Myanmar May 2, 2008 causing incredible destruction throughout the Irawaddy Delta area, Yangon, and other coastal towns. An estimated 90,000 people have been killed and another 56,000 are still reported missing. BCLC has been tracking the situation in the devastated areas since word reached the international community. Additionally, BCLC has been tracking donations being made by the business community. Due to the complexity of this relief effort as opposed to the China Earthquake relief effort, BCLC continues to recommend due diligence with regards to donations. BCLC has held three conference calls with various business representatives, government officials, and NGOs regarding the best way to provide relief for the people suffering in Myanmar.

Our programs are made possible through the generous support of donors. Contribute today!
