About the Forum
2008 has been a horrible year for disasters. From the southern California wildfires to the Cedar Rapids floods and the hurricane impacts of Gustav, Hannah and Ike, it hasn't been pretty. The team from BCLC has remained at the forefront of changing policies and practices to accelerate recovery.
The current model for disaster response is costly and inefficient and we need to continue to evolve our thinking, given the uptick in severity and damages that we are facing. (See recent supporting research)
This forum is ideal for business leaders in disaster assistance and response, local chambers of commerce in vulnerable geographic locations, economic recovery experts, and businesses with vested interests in community recovery and revitalization. At this forum we will present some of our latest research and updates from the 2008 disaster-impacted areas. Your ideas on how to continue to improve the recovery process are requested.
Featured speakers include:
- Stephen Jordan
- Daniel Alesch
- Michael Gallis
- Ines Pearce
- Ollie Davidson
- Counterparts from FEMA, DHS, SBA, NVOAD, and other relevant agencies
The cost to attend the forum is $250 for BCLC Contributors and U.S. Chamber members, and $350 for all others.
