BCLC will host a conference call on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time to provide up-to-date information on the response efforts in the Midwest after the recent flooding. 

BCLC, with the help of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and support from the UPS Foundation and Office Depot Foundation, sent a team of experts into Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to make an economic-impact determination. 

The team had three major goals:

  1. Determine the flood’s impact in the Cedar Rapids area
  2. Assess local capacity for recovery
  3. Uncover recovery gaps and ways for corporate citizens to help

On Tuesday, the assessment team will report their findings. Q&A will follow the prepared remarks. Members of the media are invited to participate. 

Who Should Participate: The call is for officials from donor companies, corporate foundations, local chambers of commerce, humanitarian aid organizations, and members of the media.
